The MET – Metropolitan Museum of Art-New York City decided to focus his attention on the artistic cultural phenomenon most unruly of the twentieth century: the Punk!

Since May 9, 2013 until August 14, you can see the influence of the movement born in the late 70s on everything that was (and is) trend, emphasizing how art, culture, music and fashion are constantly infected with each other.

The punk motto has always been “Do it Yourself” that is, Do it yourself.

Do you want all vestisti torn? Get a pair of scissors! Want the high ridge and colored? At the cost of paint it and cement it, Do her you! Want the amphibian dirty and used? Camminaci as you can!

The fact that then the fashion houses have decided, almost immediately, to adapt to what they saw on the street and, therefore, to sell directly tattered pants and tights, the real punk is certainly never went down. This does not mean that no ‘other under culture has succeeded (and fails) to influence both the trends such as punk.

At the MET will be possible to admire sketches of great designers, real leaders punk, models of Vivienne Westwood and Karl Lagerfeld and so on and so forth, but above all you will get in the most punk, dirtiest, addict of all time … the bathroom of CBGB’s.

The curators have rebuilt tile to tile, graffiti for graffiti sketch by sketch vomiting vomiting the true heart of the New York 80s.

On 6 May 2013, on the occasion of the inauguration of PUNK: Chaos to Couture, there was a great party vip, the MET Gala precisely where all the international jet set was present. Aside star (Madonna in particular), starlets and Katy Perry dressed as a Byzantine, Blondie performed in a performance by a heart attack proving that you can be cool until the last, not surprisingly Debbie Harry has made her the “beehive” pink!
